Dr. Mukesh Prasad is a board-certified otolaryngologist with more than two decades of experience caring for patients in New York City. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and has admitting privileges and operates at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Prasad received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at the combined Columbia University, Cornell University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
He joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2002 and has since held a number of leadership roles, including Chair of the Weill Cornell General Faculty Council–roles which reflect his long-standing involvement in institutional governance, clinical operations, and medical education.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Prasad treats the full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat conditions, with particular expertise in the evaluation and management of complex and difficult sinus disease. He is known for combining academic rigor with a thoughtful, highly personalized approach to care. He prides himself on being accessible to patients and their families and on taking the time to understand each individual’s concerns and goals. His approach reflects a return to the tradition of the trusted family physician, informed by the highest standards of modern academic medicine. He is regularly recognized on local and national Best Doctors lists.
